Motorola also makes a good looking line of DECT 6.0 phones with multiple handsets.

Re: I've had it! Time for new cordless phone, recommendation?

Most of the off-the-shelf phones suck in one way or another. i have been from uniden, to panny, to uniden to Engenius duaphone. The Engenius is the the best cordless, but there is no answering base,so use VM. The family likes the uniden the
uniden the most because it is far easier to use than the panasonic.

    Annoying things about the uniden.
    1. The beep after each VM is left. A light would be adequate.
    2. Double button push to get to caller ID info. Reminds me of a crappy Nokia phone.
    3. Batteries and chargers are not made to last. For the price of the replacement batteries, you can sometimes get a whole new system. WTF?
    4. No noise cancellation and poor speaker/mic quality.
    5. Belt clip might last 5 minutes.
    Great things about the uniden:
    1.survived several drops at 4 and 5'.
    2. survived leaving it outside in the rain.
    3. survived dropping in dish sink full of water.
    4. Easy to listen to messages from any extension.
I finally quit drinking for good. Now, I do it for evil.

I need a bright display with legible characters, and backlighting on the keypad.
